All of our furniture is made from sustainably harvested solid wood at our plant in the Town of Durham, Ontario, Canada. Durham (population 2,500) is nestled amid rolling hills, forests and farms, along the Saugeen River about 150 kilometres (93 miles) north of Toronto.
Durham Furniture employs about 200 craftspeople who work in our century-old red-brick factory. We are a tightly knit family – spanning multiple generations – dedicated to making fine furniture in an environmentally sustainable and ethical way.
Our products include traditional, transitional, contemporary and cottage styles, and are sold by fine furniture dealers across North America. Durham Furniture is featured in exclusive luxury hotels and in countless beautiful homes across Canada and the United States where it is passed down from one generation to the next.
Product Development
- All our fashionable, solid-wood products are targeted to satisfy the needs of today’s consumers with product developed and directed through our North Carolina based office.

- Complete engineering and detailing capabilities are located at the Durham, Ontario factory – we control all aspects of the product development process in Canada and the U.S. through Durham employees.

George Washington Mount Vernon Architect Collection
The exclusive George Washington Architect collection is licensed from George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate. The Architect collection is crafted from the finest North American maple and built to last for generations. The main design element, the heart-shaped scroll motif on the beds, mirrors and door pieces, was inspired by the decorative pattern Washington chose to adorn the crown molding in the central passageway of his home. Physical distressing and heavy antique brass hardware are just a few of the design elements that make this collection so special. The Architect collection is available in our 25+ finishes.

This Low Footboard Sleigh Bed is the ultimate presentation of traditional styling with a contemporary feel. This “platform” style bed is embellished with our heart-shaped scroll carving adorning both the head and footboard. The fluted side posts, carved raised panels of the headboard, and solid wood rosettes are beautifully enhanced by our softly distressed, antique finish.
