This nightstand is handsome and sturdy, but has a couple of unexpected limitations. The interior of the drawers is unfinished, with a slightly rough surface, leaving it vulnerable to scratches and stains. I grudgingly decided to paint them, but discovered that the drawers wouldn’t pull out far enough for easy access and I couldn’t figure out how to remove them completely. (Plan B: I’ll install a waterproof shelf liner and hope for the best.)
